Nexium (Esomeprazole)

Nexium it is used for treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, promote treating of erosive esophagitis, eradication of Helicobacter pylori together with antibiotics, preventive therapy of ulcers after treatment with anti-inflammatory non-steroid medications.

Take Nexium according to prescriptions of your treating doctor.
Nexium is taken perorally with food or without every day at the same time.

Nexium is a specific inhibitor of a proton pump (PPIs) of the parietal cells of the mucous layer of stomach and it reduces the amount of hydrochloric acid produced by stomach during digestion.

If you have missed regular planned intake of Nexium - take it as soon as possible. If this time has coincided with your next intake - skip it and continue to take it as usual.

Nexium has to be stored at temperature 68-77 degrees by Farenheit (20-25 degrees) in protected from high temperature, humidity and light place.

If you are hypersensitive to Nexium or similar drugs (for example, omeprazole), you are taking an HIV protease inhibitor (for example, atazanavir), than Nexium is contraindicative.

Important :

• Nexium can cause drowsiness or giddiness.
• If any of symptoms of bleeding ucler (black, tarry stool or vomiting which is similar to a coffee ground) are observed at you or if you have a pharyngalgia, a stethalgia, a severe pain in a stomach, or difficulty at swallowing - immediately turn to your doctor for help.

Such possible side effects may include:

• Headache; a stomach ache; a constipation; a diarrhoeia; a xerostomia; a meteorism; a nausea.

• Rash; an urticaria; an itch; the hardened breath; an edema of a mouth, face, lips, tongue; a stethalgia; a tachycardia; a fever, a pharyngalgia; blistered, peeling, red, swollen skin; raised weariness.

Nexium is to be used only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not share it with other people.
If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor.
